Reverse osmosis (RO) process is an economic process in seawater desalination in which seawater is passed through high pressure through semi-permeable membranes or membranes with the aim of separating soluble salts from saline water. RO technology is today the most economical method of desalination of seawater in large volumes. RO systems require pretreatment processes to increase the efficiency and longevity of the membranes. One of the most important goals of RO pre-treatment systems is water supply with low turbidity and SDI.
